The President's Message and her team
for the 2026 -2027 Rotary Year
|
I have been a Rotarian for about 4 years - at that time we were having Zoom meetings but soon after changed to face to face when it was far easier to get to know fellow members. Having been Secretary of the Club for the past two years and also been very much involved with the Youth Competitions both locally and for our District I am delighted to be their President from 1st July 2026 for our coming Rotary Year.

Events Planned for this Rotary Year
It is planned that we have another Volunteers Coffee Morning in Minehead – probably a Saturday in October – a way for any local residents to find some interesting organisation to offer their time to and enjoy.
Some events are planned with Rotary Club of Minehead being asked to marshal and lend their expertise in helping other organisations. Other events are fund raisers for our charities. The nominated one for this year is Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and that is our chosen charity for 2026-2027.
We have a quiz twice a year and this year will also be running a Race Night in September. All are welcome to join these events – you just need to book a table. Our website will be promoting all these in good time.
We have the promenade and sea front where we are often seen either with our bunny ears or Santa hats for the Fun Runs we arrange. and, as we found in May - Blenheim Gardens - and we plan to repeat the Party in the Park event next year.
We will continue to support Minehead Eye and related youth projects. On 24th July there is a plan to have a Childrens’ Last Day of School party in Blenheim Gardens. Rotary have been invited to have our Gazebo, help with marshalling as required and there is the opportunity to promote our youth competitions. We have the Dunster Country Fair already booked and in the diary for 29th July. We will also be at The Minehead Bay Festival on Saturday 29th August.
We are also happy to talk with potential members – email addresses are noted below – so please do get in touch to find out more about us. Keep looking back here or on our Facebook Page for up to date information.
