The Rotary Club of Minehead was pleased to be able to support the wonderful Minehead Bay Festival last weekend.
Some of our members assisted with marshalling and we had space to set up Gazebo HQ which we shared with our friends Minehead & District Lions Club. Lots of people stopped for a chat. We were featuring Water Suvival Boxes and our plans to offer assistance to households in West Somesret which are prone to flooding. The event was a roaring success and everyone is looking forward to next year's. Well done to all involved 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 Excellent photos courtesy of the Festival.

Not long ago, in a building formerly know as County Stores, a number of Minehead Rotary Club members paid a visit to the County Classics Motor Museum.
It opened in 2023 and the visitors were amazed how many cars and motorbikes were on display in several rooms. The visit finished with a visit to the lovely cafe where there was another impressive array, of cakes 🍰 🍪 🧁 We had a very convivial meeting with some members of Taunton Vale Rotary Club at the Luttrell Arms in Dunster on Monday evening. The weather was perfect and the Boules area in the Luttrell Arms Secret Garden is a lovely setting for a sporting contest. There was a great turnout from both clubs! We have not been very successful in our skittles matches against Taunton Vale so our hopes for a better result with the shiny balls were high. Minehead did well in the first round and a premature glimmer of excitement developed, only for it to be dashed by Taunton's strong performance in the second round and their victory overall. No hard feelings!
A happy band of Minehead Rotary Club members crewed our Club Gazebo at Dunster Country Fair yesterday. We spoke to interested passers-by about our Water Survival Box display and membership opportunities and, at the same time, did a little fundraising! #FellowshipAndFun During the May half term, several club members and partners enjoyed a lovely afternoon on the Tiverton Horse-drawn barge on the Grand Western Canal.
A very relaxing way to pass a few hours! https://www.tivertoncanal.co.uk/ |
