What better place to tell people about the Guide Dogs for the Blind charity Santa Fun Run on Sunday the 3rd December than at Minehead's Parkrun on the seafront on a beautiful day (for a change!).
Rtn Andrew was at the finish distributing flyers and telling everyone how good they'd look in a Santa costume!

Several Rotarians have volunteered to shake the collecting buckets for St Margaret's Somerset Hospice and Dunster by Candlelight this year, on Friday 1st and Satuday 2nd of December
October 24th is World Polio Day. Some members of The Rotary Club of Minehead and friends marked the day by doing a "Walk a Mile for Polio" along Minehead's seafront. It was a lovely day for it and a nice chance for some fellowship in a good cause. On Monday 16th October we were pleased to welcome past District Governor, Ric Canhan, to our meeting. Ric had come along to present past President, Angela Murray-Clarke, with a Rotary Club Citation Certificate. Out of the 47 clubs in our District 1200, Minehead were they only club to achieve all the goals we had set.
The purpose of the Rotary Citation is to increase Rotary club involvement in service activities, while at the same time encouraging Rotarians' personal involvement in serving others and promoting a high standard of Rotary service in the community. Well done to all club members who helped us achieve this recognition. We were delighted to be able to help some of our Ukrainian friends showcase a selection of their traditional food and drink at this year's Summer Minehead eat Festival yesterday.
We set up our gazebo and a couple of tables to help them take adavantage of a late-entry spot in The Avenue. Many thanks to the organisers for helping this to happen. We think it's fair to say it was a great success! |
