We held our first ever Easter Bunny Fun Run on the morning of Easter Monday to raise funds for our youth activities in West Somerset. After a rainy early morning, the sky cleared in time for the start at 11 and the enthusiastic field, which comprised girls and boys of all ages, set off to run or walk the 2 or 4 km route along the seafront. It was great fun, everyone looked fetching in their bunny ears, and we raised over £300. We have lots of rabbit ears left for next year's event, which we're sure will be even bigger! We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who came and took part and to everyone who contributed to making it go so smoothly. Special thanks go to Butlin's who sent two lovely Redcoats to help us, to Snazaroo who kindly donated face paints to enable us give the particpants their bunny noses and whiskers, and Mr Sweet's Kiosk on the seafront who dotated bottles of water for the participants. We're looking forward to next year! #RotaryInAction

There's a new Minehead Rotary Club fundraising event for 2025!
We'd also love to hear from anyone who might be able to help by doing some simple face painting before the start each morning. Snazaroo have kindly agreed to support us by donating some paints - we just need some painters! Unfortunately the Minehead Rotary Club Facebook Page has been suspended by Meta so we can't post there for the time being. Please email [email protected] if you can help. The school round of the 2024/25 Rotary Young Chef Competition was hosted by West Somerset College and we are grateful to Vere Kennett of the college and the judges Richard Hands and Lewis Singletary for giving up their time to make the contest such a challenging but enjoyable experience for the young chefs.
Veronica, Brian and Iris of Minehead Lions Club and Mollie of Minehead Rotary Club spent a busy morning packing 26 parcels of Christmas presents for Young Carers attending three local schools.
The gifts will be presented to the Young Carers by Rotary Club President Andrew de Mora in December. #christmasiscoming #workingtogether The Exmoor Young Chef Competition, organised by Minehead Rotary Club, Visit-Exmoor and Butlins, and sponsored this year by Bidfood, will be held at West Somerset College on Oct 5th 2024.
The information pack can be found on the website below and entries have to be sent in by JUNE 30th. 10 participants will be notified by JULY 10th. Please share with any young food enthusiast you think might be interested - it’s a wonderful opportunity! www.visit-exmoor.co.uk/business-hub/centre-of-excellence/events |
